Peter D. Mazonson, MD, MBA
Dr. Mazonson is a Principal and founder of Mosaic Health Care Consultants where he leads a variety of projects at the interface between health economics, reimbursement, and clinical utility. He has over 20 years of consulting, general management, and medical practice experience. Dr. Mazonson has written more than 50 publications and presentations related to health economics and reimbursement.
Prior to co-founding Mosaic, Dr. Mazonson was the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for R2 Technology. In this role, he managed reimbursement, regulatory affairs, clinical affairs, intellectual property, new product development, quality assurance, and service. Dr. Mazonson was President of Technology Assessment Group (TAG), an international health outcomes consulting group with offices in San Francisco, Boston, Montreal, and Oxford, England. In 1998, TAG was acquired by Quintiles Transnational and merged with the Lewin Group. From 1998-2000, Dr. Mazonson served as Senior Vice President of The Lewin Group, where he oversaw North American operations for a 120-person division of the firm.
In addition, Dr. Mazonson is a board certified general internist and continues to see patients one day a week. He received his BA from Harvard College, his MD from Dartmouth Medical School, and his MBA from Stanford University.
Mr. Santas is a Principal and founder of Mosaic Health Care Consultants, where he currently directs reimbursement and health economic studies for a variety of new health care technologies. He has over 20 years experience consulting to a broad range of health care clients, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics companies; pharmacy benefits managers; health maintenance organizations; large insurance companies; and academic medical centers.
Prior to co-founding Mosaic, Mr. Santas' served as Vice President of Reimbursement, Quality, and Service for R2 Technology, where he spearheaded the company's efforts in obtaining reimbursement for computer-aided detection (CAD) in mammography. Prior to this, Mr. Santas was Senior Vice President of The Lewin Group, where he directed Medical Technology practice offices in San Francisco, Boston and Montreal.
Mr. Santas received his BA degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA with a focus in health services administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Ms. Murphy is a Senior Manager at Mosaic Health Care Consultants where she currently manages a spectrum of reimbursement and strategic planning projects for diagnostic, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical clients. She has seven years of health care consulting, business planning, market research, and policy analysis experience.
Before joining Mosaic, Ms. Murphy was a project manager and policy analyst at Boston University's School of Public Health. In this role, she conducted analyses of broad-based policy initiatives and their implications for federal and state health programs. In her prior experience, Ms. Murphy was an Associate at Medimetrix Consulting, a national health care consulting firm. In this position, she developed business plans, conducted market analyses, and provided strategic guidance to a spectrum of health care organizations across the country. Ms. Murphy also served as an Account Executive at Porter Novelli International, where she provided strategic planning consultation and developed social marketing campaigns for both public and private health care entities.
Ms. Murphy received her BA in Psychology from Yale University and her MBA in Health Care Management from Boston University.
Ms. Efrusy is a Senior Associate and economic modeler at Mosaic Health Care Consultants, where she currently manages health economics projects across a variety of major products and markets. She has 10 years of health care consulting, project management, and international public health experience. Prior to joining Mosaic, Ms. Efrusy served as an Epidemiologist at the San Francisco Department of Public Health in the Community Health Epidemiology & Disease Control unit, where she designed and conducted a retrospective cohort study on immunization rates among children in San Francisco. Prior to this, Ms. Efrusy was a Project Manager at the Institute for Global Health, where she managed a multi-site study evaluating the use of computerized clinical vignettes to assess quality of care in VA and managed care settings. She also spent four years working for The Lewin Group as a Research Associate and Project Manager.
Ms. Efrusy received her BA degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and her MPH with a focus in maternal and child health from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ms. Crum is a Research Associate at Mosaic Health Care Consultants, where she currently assists on reimbursement and health economics projects. Prior to joining Mosaic, Ms. Crum received a Masters degree in Public Health at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia through the Rotary International Ambassadorial Grant and graduated in 2002. Through her MPH program, Ms. Crum conducted qualitative and quantitative research exploring smoking cessation intervention strategies and fall prevention in elderly populations- research projects requiring expertise critiquing study protocols, developing and administering interview questionnaires, leading focus groups, and analyzing data.
Ms. Crum completed her undergraduate degree at Stanford University with a BA in Human Biology and an area of concentration in human performance and wellness.
Ms. Vijayaraghavan is a Research Associate at Mosaic Healthcare Consultants, where she develops economic models and analyses for the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Mosaic, she worked as a researcher at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA School of Medicine, focusing on developing mathematical and analytical models for ocular motility and strabismus.
Ms. Vijayaraghavan's research projects have also included analyzing and developing circuitry to study blood flow to the brain using the technique of photoplethysmography and conducting quantitative analysis of controllers for servo motors and fluid flow analysis in conjunction with the Chemical Engineering department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Ms. Vijayaraghavan obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras and earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA.
Ms. Cheng is a Research Associate at Mosaic Health Care Consultants, where she focuses on economic analysis and reimbursement strategy projects.
Prior to joining Mosaic, Ms. Cheng served as a Private Banker at Wells Fargo Bank where she performed financial analyses and services for the highest net-worth clients of the bank. She was recognized as the Top 1% of bankers in the nation. Prior to this, Ms. Cheng worked as a Financial Analyst at Intel Corp. where she was responsible for maintaining the costing system for the Central Processing Unit division and for understanding pricing trends occurring within the CPU business, which ultimately impacted Intel's pricing decisions.
Ms. Cheng obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
